Broadway Palm Launches Three-Concert September Music Series Beginning Sept. 4

Southwest Florida music fans can relive the soundtracks of their lives this September as Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre presents a three-concert series spanning the 1970s, 1980s, and the baby boomer era. Opening September 4 with Yacht Rockin’, followed by My Boomer Generation on September 11, and closing with 80s REWIND on September 24, the series brings together some of the region’s most accomplished musicians for live performances that celebrate the songs that defined generations.

Each concert will feature a different ensemble of veteran performers, all playing and singing live. The series opens with Yacht Rockin’ on September 4 and 5, a tribute to the smooth, jazz-infused rock of the late '70s and early '80s. Audiences will hear hits from Ambrosia, Toto, America, Michael McDonald, Gary Wright, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, and more. The six-piece band includes Darrell Nutt (drums, musical direction), James Albritton (guitar, vocals), Matt Baxley (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Hunter McDaniel (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Jennifer Mazziotti (saxophone), and Steve Friedman (bass). Collectively, these musicians have shared stages with members of Steely Dan, Yes, The Moody Blues, Goo Goo Dolls, Sly Stone, Glenn Frey, and Counting Crows.

My Boomer Generation takes the stage September 11 and 12, offering a musical journey through songs that became the backdrop for a generation’s memories. Featuring music from The Rolling Stones, The Band, Paul Simon, Rickie Lee Jones, Neil Young, Carly Simon, and many more, the five-piece ensemble includes Darrell Nutt (drums, musical direction), Susie Hulcher (bass, vocals), Rick Howard (guitar, vocals), Hunter McDaniel (keyboards, guitar, vocals), and Jennifer Mazziotti (saxophone). The show celebrates the songwriting and distinctive voices that remain connected to the people and moments of our lives.

The series concludes with 80s REWIND on September 24 and 25, a high-energy celebration of the decade of big hair and bigger hooks. The seven-piece band will perform hits by Peter Gabriel, Blondie, The Cars, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Eurythmics, Madonna, and more. The lineup features Darrell Nutt (drums, musical direction), Susie Hulcher (bass, vocals), Sarah Hadeka (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Will Kaiser (guitar, vocals), Ray Nesbit (guitar, vocals), Matt Baxley (keyboards, guitar, vocals), and Jennifer Mazziotti (saxophone). Kaiser and Nesbit are also key members of the popular Pink Floyd tribute Floyd Nation, and the entire group brings extensive touring and recording credits, having worked with members of Steely Dan, AC/DC, Journey, Boston, The Moody Blues, Cheap Trick, Goo Goo Dolls, and The Allman Brothers.
